Unlike high school, in college, you won’t be spending 7 hours in class for 5 days a week. You will have a lot of free time to fill & in college you must create your own structured routine. In order to be successful in college, time management is key. Here are some tips that helped me manage my time during college:
- Schedule your time. Create a schedule that includes all your current time commitments like class and work. Then you can see what time you have free for studying, volunteering, and getting involved on campus.
- Create a routine. By creating a routine, you will maximize the time you have each day and will be more productive.
- Relaxation is a must. Be sure to allow time to hang out with friends, go to church, and just relax. College is hard, you will need time to unwind and take a break.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, seek out help. Most campuses have a department devoted to helping students succeed while in college and they are more than willing to help you schedule your time.
